Chris & I Went To Vegas for 5 Days!!

I am going to post this for now, but I want to add more pics from Chris' cell phone...so there will be more pics to come ;o)


Friday 3-12-10 we started our day going to the chiropractor with the kids and then we took the kids to Shannon's house. It was so nice of her & David for watching the kids for us!! I will be forever grateful to them for that! We got to the airport and got all checked in. I got really nervous because I haven't flown this far into pregnancy and I heard horror stories! So on the airplane I kept getting braxton hicks and I had to keep rubbing them out. They still gave drinks and peanuts on the flight and that was nice. I always get ginger ale. Chris & I tried to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on his laptop and found out that the ear splitter thing only would play out of one ear on each headphone. So we shared a headphone. Then on the other flight we played word search games and it was fun. I bought a word search book. I found out that Chris enjoys word search when I had played it online one time. I like that I found something else we both enjoy doing together. I know almost 9 years of marriage and I just find this out haha. We landed in Vegas & it was COLD! So windy! We got to the hotel, The Hilton Grand Vacations On The Strip, and it was really nice. There was someone waiting in the lobby and they asked our names and escorted us to the check in. We got to our room and it had an armoire with a tube tv in it...and Chris called down and asked about it and said it didn't match the picture on the internet and they changed us from Tower 1 to Tower 2. Tower 1's view was a construction site...not too appealing...Tower 2's view was nicer you could at least see the city. Our room now had a flat screen tv and a nice view. We were on a lower level, but it was still high enough. Moriah called us and told us her view was of a rooftop. We had went to visit her at her hotel (well she picked us up and we stopped in) and yeah it was pretty bad! She had a view of a ton of air conditioners on a rooftop. I can't remember too many details, but I know we didn't eat out too expensive because by the time we wanted to eat it was around 11 PM and nothing was really opened.

3-13-10 We hung out with Moriah for a bit and went shopping at Sahara Hotel (right down the street from our hotel) and I got a purse. Then I saw this hat that I wanted so bad! It's brown with a buckle on it. Chris had left to check out getting tickets for a show that night (the Magician at that hotel). I decided I would see if there were any other hats that I could find on the trip before I decided on this one. So we left and drove to the Hard Rock Cafe & got a few pics...

Then went to the Coke store and Moriah has a collection and we were there for a long time. Chris went to check out movie times for the time Moriah & I would be gone with Andrea getting pedicures and to do a little searching around. Moriah & I took so long at this store. Then we went to the M & M store and took a while there. It had 4 floors! And the colored M & M's you can make your own bag...cost...$12.00 a LB! TWELVE DOLLARS! I am ok with the original colors. haha ;o). Then we met back up with Chris. Andrea called and told us where to meet her and we left Chris. Andrea drove us to the pedicure place and we got pictures of our toes! SO CUTE! We each got flowers on our big toes! It was nice to be able to meet up with Andrea! She told me about her brothers Mitch & Merrill being in Afghanistan! How Merrill has to work with the prisoners and take extra precautions like wearing masks etc. while working on their teeth (he's a dentist). She said Mitch had much better conditions over there. Moriah got a phone call and I felt bad cause Annie & I were just chattin' it up. But when I got all done Moriah got off the phone and said that her honey Lance called her. That was good. When we left the pedicure it was SO WINDY! Moriah got dropped off at her car and I found out where Chris was and got dropped off with him at the Sahara. We were cutting it close to show time (the magic show). And Chris thought he left the tickets at our hotel (a block up) and so he RAN back to the hotel. I went to the store to get the hat and I didn't have my credit card or my id. I returned my purse cause it broke and I got a different one. I had to give the lady all of my info since I didn't have my id. And of course a line was forming! UGH! Then Chris calls me and tells me where to meet him and he was tense & I got tense...then I told him I needed my card not his & ID to purchase the hat and we were in such a hurry that I kind of tossed the hat to the lady and told her I would have to come back for it. Then we made it to the show BARELY and it was a good show. I don't know how magicians do it! I hear mirrors are how it works, but I don't know....We had pretty good seats for being late. We also got to get a picture by the tigers used in the show. Chris loves white tigers. After the show we got the hat I wanted & I LOVE it!
I can't remember if it was this night we went to Treasure Island's show "Sirens", but this is the only pic I got of it. Unless Chris got more I need to get his pictures from his cell phone...We went with Moriah & had front row to one of the ships. It was kind of a slutty show for being public and outside. One boat was all girls in lingerie and the other boat was a few guys with their shirts off...It was ok.

A really wicked cool motorcycle was just inside the doors of Treasure Island & it looks like a woman! It was SO COOL! I took pics of that:



3-14-10

Chris & I slept in and then went to a time share presentation next to the Bellagio at The Jockey Club. It was supposed to take 90 minutes, but ended up being 2 hours. Ugh! When we told the 1st guy no we couldn't do it he brought the manager over who gave us a new plan to look at and we said no. Then they brought the finance guy over and he tried to get us to buy...we told him NO. So it ended up being 2 hours. We got our free tickets to shows and a 3 night stay at the Jockey Club if we come back to Vegas in the next year (highly unlikely with all the new life changes...). One of the shows was a Comedy show called Sin City Comedy a little bit of sexy & funny. Then we got tickets to the hypnotist my friend recommended. And last we got tickets to the Mentalist (we didn't end up going to this one.). We had to redeem the tickets at the V theater where they were at and so we had to hurry. We thought maybe my sister & her friends & Amanda would want to go with us, but they turned it down. We went to get tickets to a the comedy show. We got stuck there for 4 hours and I am not going to say why, but it was really lame...I felt like we wasted a whole day at this place! It was a mall and I am not much into shopping! :o( I did buy some earrings and I LOVED them! The picture below doesn't do them justice...I got into line for the comedy show and I was 1st in line. It was nice. There was a nice couple waiting in line behind me and we talked a little bit. Then right when they let VIP in and getting close to letting us General Admission people in Chris came back to me. We got into the theater and had pretty good seats. The comedians were SO funny! One joked about the guys on the street clicking the porn cards and said something about how he wondered if they went to a school to know how to do that & how to click it just right etc. He joked about the old ladies at their slot machines and to just stay away from them & DON'T steal their machines...! He metioned time outs & how parents don't spank anymore...asked a lady that said she was a stay at home mom what she does and she said she puts her 2 year old in a corner on a stool for 3 minutes if she is bad. And the comedian made fun of her cause he made it sound a lot worse than a spankin'...had to be there it was funny! She kept digging herself a hole LOL. A lot of Vegas humor. Then in between acts there was a girl that came out and did a little dance (in lingerie) and ugh it bugged me cause that is what all the Vegas shows were like...She was a good dancer, but yeah I felt uncomfortable.

We left the theater and I asked Moriah where they were at (her & Amanda). They said they were headed to go to the club and asked where I was. I told them and they said they would come pick me up...Chris & I walked to meet them. It took them forever to get through construction traffic and so Chris & I waited. Finally they got to me at 11 PM and I left Chris to go to a club with the girls for my sister's b-day. He was going to go to a movie & check things out on the strip. He isn't into dancing and the club scene. I used to go all the time before I was married & I love it! We went to the clubs that were open at the Palms Hotel. This hotel is usually one that MTV puts up all their people in Vegas (at least it seems like it :o)). I didn't think they would let me in cause I am pregnant & fat! But they did. Also there was a sign that said no flip flops! I was so worried because I was wearing flip flops!! We had a lot of fun and the one club had a balcony that was 54 flights up and we could see ALL of Las Vegas! It was amazing! Then the other club had really good music and it was fun dancing. We partied until 3 AM! All of our phones died & I was so mad because I wanted to get pictures! So I have to write about it to remember it! I actually put more details of the club in another post, but kept it private...;o). I am going to put my blog into book form & it will be in my personal file. Nothing bad happened just so you know! ;o) We got back to Amanda's car and she plugged her phone in. Chris text her 10 min before and said the strip was boring and when would we be done...I felt bad! I called him and he said he just hopped on the bus and would meet me at the hotel. We talked about our nights & went to bed about 4 AM!

We got up and ready to go get massages and we had to ride the bus out to the place to get it done. It was really nice. I had an hour pregnancy massage (the lady couldn't push very hard because she says when pregnant the toxins released could be dangerous for the baby...) She suggested I get a deep tissue massage after I have the baby. She used hot stones on me and it was just very nice. She asked if I was Mormon and I told her yes and she at 1st said she was too, but then said she dated a Mormon guy that was a bishop. I told her how Chris & I met and how I know God sent him to me. We talked about life & everything. She kept saying I was blessed and I told her I felt blessed & that I agreed with her. I told her I know that sounds cocky, but I really do feel blessed. Chris has been wonderful for me! She said she was jealous and then she said she wasn't & then said, "Yeah I am jealous!" She wasn't married and she wanted to have kids. She was 35. She was so cute so I don't know why she wouldn't be snatched up! Chris was getting an hour & a half massage with stones. I could tell a difference in his back when he was done. Usually one side is larger than the other. I had asked the girl that did my back if she knew of a good shoe store and she told me of a warehouse that has TONS of shoes. So we caught the bus and road about 60 blocks there! This wasn't in our plans and we had plans to go other places and to just relax at our hotel...but Chris indulged me ;o). The bus driver was funny and asked why us tourists were on the Rainbow bus (that was the street we were on...) and we told him we were lost...haha. He was really nice. We got to this shoe store and it WAS huge!! It took me an hour to find something comfortable (my sandals were making my shins hurt!! Well I bought these Naturalizer shoes and they had cushions on the heel and had arch supports. I was very excited! We walked to In & Out Burger (over the freeway a bit of a walk...). And the back of my ankles got blisters! Chris asked the person at In & Out for band-aids...I thought it would be fine & it wasn't. I kept my shoes on. And the band-aids kept riding up and my shoes blistered my feet up more! We rode the bus back to our hotel and it took forever. I thought another band-aid would help for my shoes and NO it didn't. I made the mistake wearing brand new shoes walking on the strip!! We were in a hurry to get to the V theater to go to the hypnotist show and we got on the bus and it took FOREVER! So we got off at a stop a few blocks from our actual stop. I told Chris to run ahead and that I would catch up to him. Yeah my blisters HURT! But when I was rushing to get to the theater I forgot about the pain and just kept going. We got to the theater in time and got into the show. Looked at my ankles and yeah they were bleeding! ugh it hurt! The show was good and the hypnotist did this trick in the beginning by twirling a circle with a spiral on it & he told us he wasn't hypnotizing us, but to continue to look at the circle...when he got done he said to look at his assistance boobs (she was clothed...) and they grew bigger LOL. He said, "I just saved her $5000!" LOL. The show was good. It was a bit slow at 1st cause he let everyone that wanted to be hypnotized come up. Then he weeded it down to 10 people. There was one guy that I still don't think was hypnotized, but whatever. He just seemed weird to me like he was acting. After the show I asked them if they had archived shows that we could get that night and they said we have to get it through corporate or order online. :o( I was going to get my friend, Jen's, show that she did Sept 9th 2009. She was in the show and was one of the people that got hypnotized.

I saw this sign below in the bathroom at Planet Hollywood...thought it was interesting they felt we needed to know this in the bathroom... After the show I was hobbling! I told Chris that I just wanted to walk with my bare feet & he wouldn't let me on the strip because it was dirty and there was glass. We went to a store and got blister band-aids...supposed to have more support and to cushion your blister areas. Yeah didn't help! They fell off like the regular band-aids. I am thinking of calling the consumer of the product and tell them I didn't like their stuff! We made it to a Denny's to eat and it was really yummy! I haven't been to Denny's in SO long! We made it to a bus stop and made it back to our hotel around 3 AM. Moriah had also let us know she was staying an extra day, but we never got to meet up.

3-16-10

We slept in again. My sister kept calling to let us know she was leaving and I didn't answer the phone. I was SO tired! We had a late check out. When we did leave our hotel the concierge said we could leave our luggage with him and when it was time to catch our shuttle to the airport we could come back & get it. We rode the bus to MGM Grand & NY NY & hung out there for a bit. Lion below sleeping on the glass...you can walk through a tunnel and take pictures...Chris wanted to see if they actually had a Pepsi store like the Coke store across the street. It was just a neon sign so they didn't :o(. Then we got the kids stuffed animal Lions. Ben got one with a big mane. Amelia got one that was a momma lion with a little baby lion in her arms. And I told Chris we needed one for the little baby that came on the trip with us ;o) (the one in my tummy), so we got a little baby lion. Then we had to rush to the monorail and I didn't know how far it was, but it WAS FAR! And we missed the 1st one. And the next one came pretty quick. We got on & we had a bit of time so that we could at least walk to the hotel to get our shuttle....well....halfway there we get stopped at one of the stops because the doors wouldn't close and then a voice comes on the loud speaker saying that they were experiencing technical difficulties...I thought OH GREAT! I was all telling Chris the monorail was quicker than the bus & THIS happens! So we get to our stop and I told Chris to run ahead...we had 5 minutes to walk a mile (practically a mile...). And so he ran and I kinda did a few jogs here & there and rushed to get to the hotel! Finally I get there & our shuttle was there! He waited for us!!! They don't usually wait. I was so thankful for the dude! I didn't want to pay for a taxi...especially after we paid for the shuttle! We made it to the airport and made it home safe! Oh and I was able to have a Cinnabon! mmmmmmmmmm Chris' parents were at our house cause we asked them to put the kids in bed at home so that the next day we could take them to daycare cause we had to work. They watched our kids a couple of the days & I am thankful to them for that! I don't know when we will be able to go on a trip like that again in the future! I hope we could, but now that we will have 3 kids we may need to wait a few years. And we made note that if we go to Vegas again we will rent a car! I thought I lost weight on this trip from all the running & walking, but when I weighed myself at work today (3-18-10) I only lost a pound. I guess it's better than gaining 10! ;o)

3-17-10
Amelia heard Chris getting ready for work downstairs and she came down and was so excited to see him! She was talking his ear off. I was still in bed and I was thinking it was so cute! Then Chris brought her to me and she was all happy until he said he had to go to work! SHE FLIPPED OUT! Chris tried to calm her and told her mommy was there to take care of her & she wasn't havin' it! She screamed and cried!! And I tried to hold her & love her and she didn't want me. She pulled away and tried to leave the room & I blocked her until I knew Chris was gone. I started bawling and crying and so we just cried and I let her go and she went downstairs crying for daddy. And I stayed upstairs and I cried. I thought of how it would be without Chris & I just can't imagine it! It would be SO hard without him! The kids love him so much! I didn't hear Amelia crying anymore & I snuck downstairs to see if she was still in the house & she was on the couch silently crying :'o(. I went upstairs and took a shower...cried some more...then I got Benjamin up. He gave me a big hug and I cried a little and told him I loved his hugs! He was so sweet to me! He doesn't like when his momma cries! I finally went downstairs and Amelia was better. She said sorry to me and she got dressed to go to Christine's house. I took them to Christine's and drove to work. I got to work & Christine called (right as I drove in...) and told me that Ben had thrown up a few times. I did tell her that Grandma & Grandpa said Ben threw up on Sunday Night, but was fine the next couple of days. So I walked into work and told my boss that I would have to take another day off to take care of the kids. She was ok with that and said my computer at work had a virus anyway. So I went to pick the kids up and we had a nice day at home...I just made the kids rest & made chicken noodle soup for lunch. Ben was fine all day with me. That night Amelia wanted waffles for dinner so I made GREEN waffles, GREEN eggs with turkey lunch meat & American cheese together (looked disgusting!), and Chris made hashbrowns. We had a nice green dinner for St Patties day. My mom used to always do green dinners & it was so fun! Ben LOVES green so he enjoyed it!

Went to work & actually got a lot done! Glad I had the day off on the 17th to rest from my WALKING vacation haha ;o). I need to keep it up though! Walking.
