The kids haven't been getting good naps lately (or any naps for that matter) and so I sometimes dread coming home... haha. Well tonight was one of those nights and Amelia was sleeping when I got home & Ben was awake...and when I told him he couldn't go out & play in the snow...yes it snowed a bit today...he walked around moping in the house for about an hour. Then he crashed on the couch (it was about 6:30 PM UGH!) Well then Amelia woke up around 7 & I fed her and then it was nice cause we got to hang out together. Ben woke up for like 10 min and he grumped around & was still mad at me I think...And when he would yell "NO, NO, NO!!" at me Amelia would cry like he was saying it to her. So I would have to comfort her :o(. Then Ben moped around & then he crashed on the couch again. Then about 8:45 PM I gave Amelia a bath and again it was nice just the two of us because I could focus on her more & what she wanted to do...like sing ;o). So we sang some of her favorite songs, "Twinkle, Twinkle", "Book of Mormon Stories", "Popcorn Popping", "I Am a Child of God", etc etc. Usually Ben says no & we don't sing :o(. Then when I put Amelia to bed she kept wondering where, "Brother" was. I let her know he would come to bed later. Then I went out & I woke Ben up around 9:30 PM!! He was pretty pleasant, but looked sooooo tired (barely could open his eyes). He was so sweet when I told him I wanted to make him some dinner. He wanted a Turkey sandwich & so I made him one. At dinner I asked him how his day was (I am trying to get in the habit ;o)) and he said good.
Then he says, "It rained today A LOT! And it snowed too."
And I was like, "Yeah it snowed huh? It may not stick this time, but will probably snow a lot this year. Do you like snow?"
Then Ben says, "It's a great idea!" (like it's a great idea God made snow LOL ;o))
Then he says, "And I can play in the dark?"
And I said, "No not in the dark it isn't safe."
And he says very matter-of-factly, "I like the dark."
I love the conversations we have haha ;o) He is just so cute! And his hair is getting long & so it looks like flock of seaguls hair (like the 80's band haha). It looks really cute!
Then after we washed his hands he said he wanted to go to bed. So I got him ready & brushed his teeth & put him to bed. Amelia was still up (I was a little surprised...) and she was happy to see "BROTHER!" come to bed ;o). They are just adorable kids & I wanted to mark how enjoyable it was to spend seperate time with them today. I think we will have to do this more often ;o). I never realized how easy I had it with just one kid...;o)

Birdee, nice post. What a great idea to hone in on the good stuff. Its nice to be able to spend individual time with each child. That doesn't happen a lot in this circus. I'm going to have to keep trying.
