I got off early today from work so I could go home & do some things before Chris & the kids got home from errands...and Chris informed me that neither kid got naps today...ugh!
At lunch today I went with 2 co-worker/friends to the Idaho Youth Ranch! It was the big warehouse one. I enjoyed myself looking through dirty boxes full of peoples things that were once their treasures. I had a mug in mind for the girl I work with at the front desk (she didn't have one to drink her hot cocoa!! I felt bad for her so I got to looking.) I found that #1 Grandpa mugs were the most donated...so if that was on your shopping list for Christmas, you may want to think again haha jk ;o) I found a nice grey mug that didn't have any lettering on it (which was hard to find!), so I grabbed that one. Then my friend told me of some mugs that were pretty nice at the end of an isle...so I looked & they were really nice mugs...like tradeshow type that companies won't let their own workers use cause they are for the important clients...you know what I am talking about I am sure... ;o) So I got 2 of those. Then I saw this weird tent like thing (I will take a pic later when I use it on the kids bed...for tent making time) and I wasn't so sure about it, but I really kinda wanted it. It was a bit dirty (but when I got home I cleaned it thouroughly in the back yard)...My friend said, "I think it's cute how all the stuff you got was for your kids." Awww yeah they are the only ones I think of all the time haha ;o) And the fact that they like anything we bring home as long as it's for them ;o). Oh and I got a book & a little squirt penguin toy thingy...the grand total of all of that was , $2.75! Oh yeah that was great & the hubby won't get too worked up that I spent some money haha!
So as I got the sandwiches, grapes, chips ready to go Ben kept asking if I would play frog jumps with him (some little frog toys that leap...) and I told him I had to do dishes & make the dinner, but that I would play with him after...The song Cat's in the Cradle kept coming to mind...ugh! It's a song every parent should listen to! About how a dad keeps telling his son he is too busy & then when the son gets older the dad finally wants to get together & the son tells him not now he is busy...but maybe someday. Yeah well I still didn't go play with him & I stil feel guilty! :o( But we did go on our walk & the whole way there Ben kept trying to convince me that he would be good walking on the trail (full of bicycle riders...) that he would be a good boy. I told him I knew he was a good boy, but that I wouldn't have the patience tonight to deal with him running in front of bike riders. He was a great boy & stayed in the stroller like I asked him to. Amelia was good too...the only fight I had to break up was Amelia wanted her cup in the middle section of the stroller & Ben didn't want it there...It ended up that I put both cups in my cup holders. There were some tears shed by the kids, but they got over it ;o). Amelia played at the park we walked to & Ben kept saying he wanted to go home. I thought it was weird, and the only time he does that is if he has to go to the bathroom so I kept asking if he had to go. It was pretty cold & Ben said, "My hands are freeeeeezing!" So we packed it up & walked back to the car. It was a great time by all! Ohhhhh yeah...there is a tunnel we go through on our walk & the kids like to say, "TACO!!!" Instead of "Echo" haha ;o) So I have added that to things I like to say in tunnels haha! Oh and I also like to sing the Gwen Stefani song where they go, "Wooo hooo WOOO HOOO!" Ben loves it too ;o).
