Ok January 23, 2008 I got a phone call from a company that, I had my friend who worked there turn in my resume a month ago, does phone books & distribution & they called me! He had me come in a 9AM the next day &
I took a picture before I left for my 1st job in a year! (it was a temp job for a little bit... and yeah it felt like my 1st day of school LOL!
It was actually a pretty good day ;o)
I was just straight cold calling people ALL DAY to see if they got their phone books! I got only 2 people who hung up on me & 1 person who said they didn't like getting all of the phone books all of the time LOL! I had empathy for him though cause yeah there are like 5 phone books that come out from different companies so it can be annoying LOL! The company was trying a new thing with not using the sticky stuff to have the attached magnets be on the books...but rather have them be tucked inside. I got a lot of unsures & no's on the magnet & the boss was disappointed & looked a little worried cause he was concered about that.
So I like the place they are very laid back & the manager is a young guy who I have already joked with LOL! I broke the pen he gave me too LOL!!! He gave me a hard time about it LOL! My friend even had me join her for lunch...otherwise I don't know if I would have taken one.
I felt at home there, but part of me REALLY wanted to do the other temp job where it is straight data entry...I LOVE data entry! (but that one is only a month & this other one could turn into a full time position...hmmmmm) My kids even greeted me at the door & they were so happy to see me...that was nice! ;o)
(This is a post I made to another website, but this is why I have been so bad at updating my blog...I am posting another blog that tells you all what has happened since Jan 23rd... ;o))
