THE WEATHER IS NICE AGAIN!!!!
I saw how nice it was today and I thought...ok I am going to cut Ben's hair & if Amelia lets me I am going to cut her bangs! So I got the clippers out and Ben was freaked out! He hates getting his hair cut! A few times I had to fight him just to get the hair on the back of his neck!! He always scrunches his shoulders up and ugh it drives me nuts!! I swear the neighbors probably think I was abusing him in the back yard with his wailing & screaming! I am so glad his hair turned out great and the cops weren't called haha! I was so nervous I would miss a spot on his head (mostly the neck...! Then Amelia wanted her hair cut. I told her I would just do her bangs. So I cut them shorter & I am not loving them exactly, but she is so cute anyways that it looks fine (it will look better in a week :o)). The hair cuts were a success! Then I got the kids to take a bath & a shower to clean all the hair off. After that I packed a lunch (our usual walk lunches, Peanut butter jelly for Amelia & I and Peanut Butter honey for Ben, carrot sticks, string cheese, pretzels, girl scout cookies (oh yeah I gave in Tagalongs! mmm), and water). We parked at the Boise Downtown Library and walked along the greenbelt towards Ann Morrison Park. We stopped at a great spot with a table right by the river.

This next picture isn't to scare...it's "Mommy take a picture of yourself!!" ok ok I will....Man I am lookin' old!

I got everything out to eat and Amelia told me she had to go potty...uhhhh....where?? I saw a log and I was SO tempted to take her there, but then the thought popped into my head, illegal to pee in public...! So I asked her to hold it. She held it for about 15 min and then peed. :o( I felt like a horrible mother!! I should have packed everything up to take her potty, but I was only thinking of how hard it would be to get things packed up again just to go for a 5 sec potty break! So I didn't get mad at her because it was my fault! I called Chris and he met us at Shopko and he bought her new clothes (and Benjamin too) and we changed her. I told them we wouldn't be able to finish our walk because Amelia peed her pants and we weren't able to go to the park that we go to. Instead I asked if they wanted to go to the little park by our old house and they said they did. So we went there and there was a couple of kids my kid's ages and the boy that was also 5 was also named Benjamin. Ben & him hit it off right away ;o). Ben kept calling that kid's dad, "Hey dude...DUDE!!" ;o) When he would try & get his attention...CUTE! The dad was really helpful cause I am too short to lift them up to do the monkey bars and so he helped Ben across. It was a good time! Amelia kept holding the other boy's hand and helping him (he was the same age...) go on the slide.

I had promised Ben we would go eat at the "big store", which is the mall, for dinner. We went to the mall and walked around Borders Books and then we shared a Mongolian Grill together.

Went to Payless to look at church shoes...I found some cute ones for the kids, but they were 15-17 each! I was hoping for buy one get one deal...no such :o(

Then I had the kids come with me to The Cheesecake Factory so I could get a treat for myself ;o) I got key lime cheesecake! mmmm I shared 1 bite with them cause I love 'em ;o). They were really good kids today and I had a good time with them! Chris had to work all day and it was a nice change to be able to get out! I miss taking the kids on walks! We used to go ALL the time! We don't live so close to parks like that anymore and so it's a bit hard! Our daycare person told me today that Brother's Park is the "train park" to the kids...I need to check it out. We ended our day with doing a drive by grandma & grandpa's house to drop off some stuff that I have been meaning to return since THANKSGIVING!! They have even been to our house a few times since and I ALWAYS forget!! So we stopped by and had a little chat and the kids mauled grandpa playing with him. We drove home and got to see daddy and then we got them into bed. It was SUCH a good day that I hope again soon that we can do it!
If we didn't get out my Saturday probably would have consisted of grumpiness, laundry, grumpiness, and Facebook.....followed by more grumpiness. ;o)

What a fun day! I love those days. Doesn't seem like they come as often as they should.
