Went to UT and Found a Van!!

On Friday I got off work early and came home to clean the house before we went on our trip to UT. I actually took the non-working Christmas tree down (fiberoptic fake tree) it was driving me NUTS! Then when I was done cleaning I went to pick the kids up at the daycare about 5:20. Went home to greet Chris and get the car packed up. We realized our DVD player adapter wasn't plugging in and so we stopped at Radio Shack (cause it would make for a LONG trip if we didn't have it! How did parents do it back in the day?? haha). There was something Benjamin said that made me laugh! "A cops going to come and say*low voice* "your dvd player's not workin!" LOL!
Then it was getting late and so we decided to eat at McDonalds and we finally left town about 7:30! ugh!! Took us until 1:30 AM to get to Orem UT. It was a good drive...I kept telling Chris that I wasn't a good night driver (cause I fall asleep a lot easier these days...). So he drove the whole way! I actually stayed awake the whole time! I love road trips cause then Chris & I get to talk and enjoy each other's company ;o). We stayed at my brother's house with his family in Orem UT. We got to visit with Elwon for maybe an hour then decided to go to bed.

On Saturday Chris went out and about and looked for a van and said he would come get me later in the day. I stayed home and watched the little kids ;o) They are so CUTE! They had some swords that I had to confiscate cause the ends were sharp plastic (cause the dog chewed them up...) and Ben got hit in the head with them...Later when Chris got back to come get me Luke had come upstairs and was going to take them back and Chris asked if he was supposed to have them and I told Chris no. I said, "They are weapons!" And Luke sulked back downstairs and as he was leaving he says, "They're NOT weapons!" Luke wasn't feeling very well this weekend. Roman is FUNNY! He is SO SERIOUS! He kept saying that it was his house and not EVERYONE'S house...and something about not loving his cousins. Saw Ali a little bit...she likes to color. I asked Ben who his favorite cousin was and he said, "The girl..." He meant Ali ;o). Dom is getting so tall and the kids had fun with him...they played a little hide and seek. Shey was gone a lot, so I only got to see her a couple of times. Chris and I left about 3:30 and Chris told Amanda that it would probably take about 5 hours...and I said, "I HOPE it doesn't take that long!!" We set out on the road to Salt Lake City and we didn't take the freeway...Chris wanted to stop at ALL of the dealers on the way there...I was like oh great! I thought we were just going to look at the ones he had found...Well we finally stopped at a dealer Fiuza about 5:00 and saw a 2004 Mazda MVP...LOVED IT! We took it for a drive and as we would stop at lights the car would shudder...we let the dealer know and so he called the maintenance guy and the maintenance guy said he knew about it and ordered the part...it was a hose that did the air flow to the engine...he hurried and got that fixed for us and he also changed one of the tires (per our request). Everything worked out great and we sealed the deal! We had to go to the bank and get a check for the loan amount and we went back and paid for the van. Then we went to dinner and at 1st we went to the Mayan restaurant but the wait was an hour and it was 8:00! WEIRD! So we went to Spaghetti Mama's instead and it was yummy! I couldn't eat a lot though...then we got back to my brother's house and the whole time took about 7 hours from when we left his house to when we came back!! It was crazy! We hung out and talked for a couple of hours and then went to bed.

Sunday we hung out with Elwon's family until around 11 and we finally left his house around 11:30...it took forever to get everything transferred from the other car to the van! And I had to drive the rental back to Boise because Enterprise said that if they had to bring it back it's $1 per mile...which would be around 350 or so! UGH! Chris called me and told me Ben said (in Salt Lake City Point of The Mountain), "I SEE A VOLCANO!!!" Chris said it was a dirt mound haha ;o) From construction. So cute! I was like, "How does he know what a volcano looks like?" It made us laugh! Chris drove the new van with the kids and we went to lunch at Formosa's!! THE BEST TINY SPICY CHICKEN EVER!!! I miss Logan! We noticed a lot of new things and Thermo Fisher Scientific had a huge new building that I didn't know what it was...I need to ask someone that works there cause it looks like a big old call center! Then we went to visit my sister Moriah and her cute little kids!! Well Cambrie is now taller than me but still ;o) And Amelia and Benjamin kept trying to hold Laniah and pick her up and we had to keep reminding them that she could walk...can't wait until the baby comes...lots of helpers ;o)! We watched the rest of Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Chris got a nap in and I tried to nap, but felt like I should stay up and visit my sister ;o). We left her house around 5:30 and headed home. We stopped right after Tremonton to put Amelia with me because she wanted to ride with mommy...cause she loved mommy...is what she said ;o). We warned her there wouldn't be a DVD player and that it was just going to be music. She hadn't had a nap and we knew she was tired...she has always had a hard time falling asleep in the car! We stopped at a rest stop to go potty and Amelia freaked out when we got back in the car because she wanted to go with daddy...and she started the screaming! "DADDY DIDN'T GIVE ME A HUG!!! I WANT TO RIDE WITH DADDY!!!" At 1st I let her know that she knew she would be with me and that there was just music then she screams, "I DON'T WANT MUSIC!!!" I turned the radio up and I told her I would ignore her from now on....because she WOULD NOT STOP SCREAMING!!!!! I threatened time out and it didn't work! 15 minutes later I finally lost it and screamed at her, not yelled SCREAMED, "STOP IT STOP ITTTTTTTTTTTTT! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! DON'T DO THIS TO ME DAMMIT AMELIA!!!!" Then I started bawling! I didn't know what to do! It was like I was a crazy person in those insane asylum movies screaming! I never have been like that and I don't know why I SNAPPED like that...Chris called to ask if he was driving to fast (cause I slowed down to threaten the time out...) and I told him no and that I needed him to come get Amelia. I started crying and telling him that she wouldn't stop screaming and that I couldn't take it anymore and that I screamed at her. I felt HORRIBLE! After I had screamed she stopped all her noise...Chris came and got her and she whimpered to him that she wanted to ride with him...and he made her apologize to me...and I apologized to her...I just hope it doesn't scar her for life! It was crazy! Chris calls me a little while later and lets me know she fell asleep. I was listening to the radio and this song comes on: "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train"-Ozzy Osborn...It's a pretty good song and I felt it was pretty fitting for the moment! http://www.last.fm/music/Ozzy+Osbourne/_/Crazy+Train
It took me a while to calm down...When we stopped to eat in in Twin Falls we went to Taco Bell and Amelia was sitting on the counter...and she grabbed my face sweetly and smiled really big at me and rubbed my cheeks...I gave her kisses and let her know I loved her. It's amazing how they can make us crazy and yet show us amazing love! It was good I was following Chris because by 10:30 I was SO TIRED! We had 40 miles or so left till Boise and I kept telling Chris we needed to pull over just so I could get my eyes to wake up! We stopped and I put my glasses on (changed out of my contacts) and I felt a bit better. We got back on the road and by the time Boise hit I was in & out...I was SO TIRED!! I don't quite remember driving between Boise and Nampa...I dozed out a few times. But finally we made it! We got home got the kids in bed and we went to bed. I appreciate Chris for being such a helpful daddy & hubby! He kept flashing his lights so that it would get my attention and wake me up on the way home. He had the kids in his car the whole time and he took care of their every need. I feel like I take advantage of him too much and I hope that he knows I appreciate everything he does for us! I think I would be worn out and lost without him! I am really glad I cleaned the house up before we went because it was really nice to come home to a clean house.

Ugh back to work... ;o)

Birdeena!!! Don't drive when you're so tired - cars are lethal weapons that can kill you, your unborn baby and anyone else unfortunate to get in the way. I love you and don't want to see anything bad happen to you! Shame on my brother for putting you in that situation!!
