Company Christmas Party & The Next Day!!

So we drove up to Table Rock to my company Christmas party (the owner lives up there & invited us all to his huge house ;o)).
(This is the picture we took of Reed on his phone (for the video).
And it started snowing on the way...ahhhh Nothing too bad. We got there & Chris dropped Caryn Neff (a co-worker that rode with us) and I off at the front door & he parked the car (such a sweetie!). Reed (the owner) came to the door & wondered why we were waiting outside haha! So we waited in the entry for Chris. I gave Reed the slide show video (wrapped) and he thanked me for it. I later let him know he could play it at the party & then keep it. I put the lyrics of the song on the back of the present (typed up), and I saw him reading the lyrics & laughing so that was cool. We ate & it was pretty good food. Chicken & pulled pork, Rice, fruit kabobs, salad, rolls with sugar on them, etc. For dessert they had sugar cookies & these really good bar type cookie things...don't know what they are called, but you could taste the brown sugar! mmm And then there were these little jelly tart things. I think there were brownies, but I don't like brownies, so I didn't remember if there were any LOL!

Then they had the ugly sweater contest...and I didn't participate in this event...I usually do like dressing up for Halloween or for American Icon day etc...but when people were talking about sewing ugly things to their sweaters I wasn't prepared for that...I am not much of a sewer...I didn't want to put the time into that (since I was doing a slide show...that thing over all took about 4 or 5 hours to produce. The song took an hour, the photoshop stuff took an hour, and then getting the slideshow in sync with the song & then put on a DVD took 2 hours.)

Then they had the White Elephant gift exchange. It was a lot of fun & took a long time. So many people came it was amazing. There are around 30 employees & then spouses...and most of them brought a gift. They did by birthday & that was how they picked who got to pick something out. Someone brought a live lobster! It was crazy! I got some oil incense thing & I traded with a friend for an ornament thing. I brought Strawberry Italian Soda Syrup (only used once...ahhh I felt bad, but hoped no one would notice LOL) Well my sales rep's wife got it & then Tara stole it & she got it! whew! I told Tara that I had only used it once...she said she wondered LOL. I guess Quinn (one of the VP's)
(This is the picture I made of Quinn sending calls to his voicemail LOL)
thought it was alcohol LOL. After the White Elephant exchange Reed pulled out the video I made & put it in his DVD player...and it skipped a TON! It didn't play the whole thing & I could tell Reed was like...okayyyy. And I got all red faced & frustrated...and Allison in art (she helped me get it on a disk and do the slideshow program) told me to tell him to play it on his computer. So I went up to him & told him to try it again on his computer instead. He was like, "oh it skipped stuff?" and I was like, "YEA!" So he had a computer in the same room with a big flat screen moniter & he popped it in & it worked!!! YAY! It turned out better than I was expecting! When I had tried it at home everyone looked blurry cause we compressed the picture files & that was frustrating, but it looked great on his computer & it worked well! People were like, "is that Bird singing??" and they said, "WOW that IS Bird!" People were impressed. The slideshow was awesome & I am just so happy we did it & it worked out!
I am thankful for Jenni taking some of the pictures,
(this is the photo of Jenni & the part of the song "We can't go anywhere...go anywhere...)

Tara helping me come up with the words and us thinking of this thing all together...(Tara is so pretty!),

and Allison & Nick in art for helping get the slide show to work on a disk!

Quinn & Reed both told me they didn't know I sang...I was like, "yeah not a lot of people do." I would like to sing more, but I just haven't had the chance with the little kiddies! The new receptionist's husband (Brooke is her name...) was telling me that Reed had an old DVD player & that was why it wouldn't play the DVD + R discs. That made me feel better that someone understood ha! Reed gave me a hug & thanked me. He was like, "I can watch this years to come..." awww...then someone said, "She can make one for next year too..." haha hmmm maybe.... ;o)

After that people started to leave & we took a tour of the house...it was amazing! He has a full sized racquet court in the house with a drinking fountain next to it LOL! His wife is an artist & she has her own studio. You could see all of the lights of the city from the house. I asked Chris if he wanted to own a phone book someday LOL! I was kidding of course ;o).

We head out & the snow turned to rain...we dropped Caryn off at our house (she met us there). And we looked for a movie to go see...it was so hard to find something...there isn't many movies that we want to see out there. I already went to Twilight...we already saw the new Bond...so we chose Four Christmases. I like Reese Whiterspoon so we gave it a shot. It was ok...kinda funny, but classic my family is dysfunctional & you don't know everything about me type movie. It's about a couple in a relationship that live together & they always go on a big trip for Christmas. Well their flight gets cancelled & they have to spend Christmas with all 4 parents (cause they each got divorced). I would say wait for the cheap theater or at least Redbox or Netflix to see this one. I liked that we could go to the movies & stay up later so we went.

THE KIDS FINALLY GOT TO SPEND THE NIGHT AT GRANDMA'S! They were so excited & I was too haha! Chris & I didn't know what to do on our night on the town haha. So that was why we went to a movie. That has always been something we enjoyed together so we did that.

I picked the kids up this morning around 8:45 AM & took them to the church where we had breakfast with Santa! They had french toast sticks & oranges & apples. Then Santa came & Ben sat on his lap & told him he wanted a car for Christmas (he kinda lost his tongue for a minute...kinda like the kid on The Christmas Story LOL) . I actually said to him, "Remember what you told me in the car?" And Ben says, "In the car." He told me in the car he wanted a HUGE airplane for Christmas haha! But later he said he asked Santa for a car.I just noticed the video how it has a picture of Jesus right about Ben's head...I like that!

Then I asked Amelia if she wanted to sit on Santa's lap & she said, "NO!" She was freaked out. I will include the video here haha!

Then we went to the bank to cash my fat bonus from work!!!!! $1,040. You get $100 for every month you work at the company for that year. Of course the government took about $60 of that. Then the kids & I went to Walmart & I was getting eye make up remover & Ben was freaking out cause I put Amelia in the front of the cart and he usually sits there. I told him it was her turn. Then I stopped at these cute nail polish bottles (they are so little) and I told Amelia to pick out her favorite color for her pretties. And she picked a hot pink color LOL...so cute! And Ben said he wanted one & I told him no, but that we would find something else for him. So we went to the check out & they had this cool flashlight (he usually steals ours...) and it had these little plate things you pop on the top & it had pictures of the "Cars" characters. SO CUTE! So I got that for him & for the rest of this day he has been going to each dark room & playing with it. After the store we dropped our Netflix off at the post office & then I told Ben if he was good we would drive by the temple. The kids were good & we drove through the temple parking lot. Someone was getting wedding pictures & I told the kids, "Look someone got married in the temple today!" And Ben says, "LIKE YOU & DADDY!" I was like, "Yep just like us!" He knows that Moroni has a trumpet & so he always mentions that. Now we are home & getting daddy up to go "EAT!" as Amelia would say it LOL. And I painted her pretties ;o) (fingernails...)

Birdy--Can I just say you are, and always have been the most thoughtful person?

Your Christmas work cd took so much time! You are so nice to have done that.

I'm impressed with the painted 'pretties.' Aren't little girls fingers just dreamy when painted!

keep up the writing!
