I am a little late on posting this, but Amelia turned 2 on August 19th, 2008. Her favorite words right now are: "MOVE!" & "MINE!" So like if anyone is in her way (and I mean anyone...someone at the grocery store or wherever...) She always says to move in her sassy voice! She is repeating A LOT of words right now! I made her a puppy cake for her birthday & she got a lot of presents. I am glad my sister-in-law's were there to make up games because I didn't even think of that! So they played duck duck goose & ring around the rosey, along with red light green light & London Bridge. The kids looked like they had a great time. Here are some pictures from the party ;o)
We found in raising our kids that when they started to talk, they repeated the same phrases we used, so we started listening to ourselves and each other trying to improve our own comments.
"Mine" is a very common one they use. They can't learn to share until they "own" something.
I appreciated that someone was kind enough to point out so I could work to correct both of my comments.
Ha Aunt Shirley you are so right! Like Ben usually will say, "Of Course!" When someone asks him to do something or if they can borrow something...and I was wondering where he got that from until one day I caught myself saying it haha!
Oh & another time I had said the word Crap & Ben was just learning to talk & he said, "Crap mommy Crap!" and yeah it didn't sound like such a great word coming from the innocent & so I let him know that was a bad word & I really have tried to work on that word...it still comes out now & then, but not as often. Then when I hear other people saying it I zero in on it & mention something. Oh & what made me nervous was he said, "Crap Mommy..." And yeah I thought ok people are going to know it was me that taught him that haha! GREAT! ;o)
