The 1st night (4-25-08)my in-laws watched the kids overnight & I was so grateful to them for that! Ir really meant a lot to me. I was always complaining that they made up excuses to not watch them, but they finally did! Anyway we wanted to go to Karaoke & there was no place that we could find to go on Friday :o( So we just went to dinner at Texas Road House and it was funny because this guy came over to our table & he worked there & he said to Angie, "Excuse me...I think I know you." And she was thinking, "oh great not again" haha and he said he knew her from MT. Then all of a sudden he said her name & she said, "PJ!" And I said, "Eldridge!" I knew him from Jr High! He was the manager of the Texas Road House & he had 4 kids now. He looked different then we remembered him but we could still see who he was by his eyes & his smile. It was so cool to see him! SMALL WORLD! He didn't remember me, but I moved away when I was 14, so we never went to high school together. But I remembered him. I had told him I just saw Joe Brewer & he knew him...so maybe that was how we knew each other. After dinner Angie dyed my hair & I thought that it was probably better when the kids were gone...She also cut it & I LOVE it! I had her cut my bangs more & I actually LOVE having bangs!
There are 4 different colors in my hair: Mocha Brown, Copper Red, a Warm Blonde, and my natural color. 
On Saturday (4-26-08) I woke up at 8:30 AM to go to someone's house I visit teach to make Piroshki. It's a sweet dough filled with a meat mix (meat, hard boiled eggs, & rice) & an egg cottage cheese mix. It is something my Russian ancestors have made. My mom had to actually watch my dad's grandma make it cause grandma didn't have it written down. Anyway my partner & I went to Kim's house & my partner helped us in preparing the dough & it was eye opening for me! It wasn't as hard as I made it out to be. Yes it was an all day project, but the dough wasn't that difficult to handle! I may make a photo essay of my day there & the recipe for the piroshki.
Angie came about 1:00 and we all took turns filling the dough & Angie actually took over & it was so great! 
Then towards the end of the dough we tried to make a cinnamon roll type one & it turned out pretty good.
It was almost like a jelly roll. Then I took the rest of the dough & put the meat in it & made a meat roll. I thought...hmmm...this would be so much easier to just make a meat roll & not have to pinch & pat so many dough balls. I wonder if my ancestors are turning in their graves at the thought of that haha ;o). I mentioned that the person who made up the meat roll idea (cause there are recipes out there for that) probably got tired of doing individual pieces haha. That night we tried to find a babysitter for the kids so we could go to karaoke & I tried EVERYONE! It was stake conference the next day & so a lot of people went to the night before meeting and some had to get up really early. Finally we asked our next door neighbors & they said yes. So the husband just came over & watched a movie...we put the kids to bed & then he came over to just be here. 
We tried to go to the 44 Club to karaoke & it said they were local & regular friendly when it came to karaoke & I was a little uncomfortable about that thought & we got there & Chris & I got stamped on the hand & we started to walk in...the place was so crowded! And Angie was stuck at the door. So I go back & the bouncer guy is looking at 3 of her IDs and each one looked different & she looked different from them. She is a hair dresser so she has different styles. Her normal hair color is blonde & she now has blue spiky hair. Her license was just taken when she got in an accident the day before she came to see me & so she didn't have her correct license. But she had a military ID & that should have worked. However, she was overweight in the picture (due to being pregnant at the time of the picture) and she was blonde. So the bouncer goes to the bartender lady & she took one look up & shook her head & said NO! I was so mad! The way she judged Angie just by the way she looked made me SO MAD! So we left & I told Chris that we needed to go to Quinn's (my 1st choice). We get there & it wasn't too crowded & the karaoke wasn't too crowded either. There was a big group there that all had AWESOME voices & so it was such a great night of karaoke! When the waitress came & checked our IDs she didn't think twice about accepting Angie & I was just so thankful to her for that (I didn't say anything, but in my head I was thankful haha). I sang so many songs & I TOTALLY BUTCHERED Tori Amos' song Crucify! I couldn't remember how the main melody went & I knew the chorus well, but yeah on one of the chorus times I sang, "I crucify myself everyday...nothin' I do is good enough for you...I crucify myself (like right now (was what I added in haha)). I looked at the DJ for help & he acted like I had to keep going & so I finished the song, but dang I felt like an idiot haha ;o). He said at the end, "Give it up to Bird, who didn't know the song well, but at least finished it!" My friend bought shots for the DJ & we all got pictures (well with her camera, so I need to wait for those). Chris & I got virgin daquri's & Angie got like 5 or so Margarita's (she drinks). When she started going, "wooooo!" a lot & when I was singing I would fit in, "And waitress no more for her over there..." haha! She was getting pretty touchy feely too...but I said something & she laid off haha! Pretty interesting how people get when they drink. We got home around 1:30 AM. The neighbor looked like he was really tired, but hey all he had to do was walk next door & into bed. So it was perfect! We all took showers cause we smelled of smoke & then went to bed(4-27-08) We went to church and I kind of wished it wasn't stake conference cause Angie came & a lot of the stuff they talked about really was confusing for a person that wasn't a part of the church. Also I didn't really feel the spirit too much. Chris had to take the kids to another room & Angie & I stayed in the big meeting.
(4-28-08) I went to work & Chris took Angie to the mall to hang out. Then at lunch I asked if she wanted to go & so we all met up at the Olive Garden & I took a 2 hour lunch. I LOVE my job! I can ask the other receptionist I work with if it is ok & usually it is, so yeah we can make our own schedules. Angie got some cute stuff at the mall that day. My niece called me before I got Angie for lunch & she told me something that I feel real bad about. :o( I am not sure I should share it here, but yeah it makes me know not to take things from other people (like diet pills). I will leave it at that ;o). Then after work I picked Angie up at the mall & she wanted to get a Hooter's shirt & so we stopped in & she got one haha! She was saying it would really make her ex husband really mad haha! The girl that was helping us looked anorexic & it was sad. Yeah I made a mental note that we wouldn't be eating there ever haha ;o). There were only guys in there & the girls wear daisy duke like shorts with their butts hanging out & every clothing item is tight. Then we went to Toys R Us & Angie picked up some toys for her kids. She said in MT that Walmart is the only place to buy toys there. Sad! haha ;o). Then she bought my kids some toys for bath time. Got Ben a Elmo in a boat that you wind up & it goes around the tub (so cute!) He would rather play with his sister's toy though! UGH! Amelia got a Strawberry Shortcake doll (really little) and it came with a bathtub that has a button for a shower (so cute!) I can see why they both like it, but still it is hers so I have to remind him of that.
(4-29-08) Last day Angie was here she went & made copies of the notes her & I wrote in Jr High together(cause I kept them ALL). There were something like 380 pages? I was so glad I kept those because her ex husband had burned all of her journals & yeah our notes are a sort of journal of that time. She said it was the happy times of her life & she needed that. I guess Chris took her to McDonalds & the manager was a bit rude to Chris & Angie went OFF on the manager. I think Chris asked if the fries were fresh & the manager said, "YES (kinda snotty) I burned my hand on them!" And Angie honed in that it wasn't cool the way the guy was talking & she started going OFF! Chris was a little embarrassed & told her to let it go (cause he got fired for something dumb like that (so his manager said...which I don't agree with...)) and so he wanted her to drop it. She finally did, but I guess lunch was a bit tense cause she was so ticked. The whole time Angie was here I was really bad about making dinner! We went to Golden Corral & ate dinner. Then after dinner I told Chris he would be giving the kids a bath & that Angie & I would be going out to like a milkshake or hot cocoa place to talk before she had to go. I got the kids ready for bath & then we left (around 8:30/9:00 PM). Her bus was leaving at 10:55 PM. We found a little doughnut shop downtown (around the corner from the bus depot) and I was going to pay for her (cause I hadn't paid for her all week she was here!) And she wouldn't let me! I always feel like a taker when I am with her cause she ALWAYS pays! I don't like that feeling. Yes it is nice to have someone take care of you, but at the same time I would also like to give. We sat & talked and she shared her trouble with guys & she has been through a lot & I feel bad for her. She thinks everyone has turned their backs on her & she even said she was afraid I wouldn't accept her the way she is now. I told her I felt she was the same ole Angie I have always known. I told her I didn't see a change. I guess her family & people that live close to her say she has changed so much & that she is gothic & blah blah blah. I was like...uhhh you are a hair dresser & you like to try different things! I told her that I didn't think anything of it. I asked her if she was putting on a different face for me while she was here & she said no & so I was like...um you are no different then. I wish she could leave Great Falls, MT, but she has kids & 2 different dad's of those kids & so she is kinda bound to stay close by. When she was here the kids really warmed up to her quick! Even the 5 year old neighbor girl was always giving her hugs & was like her best friend the instant she saw her! haha. She said she looked like someone at her school. I told Angie that it was amazing that Milly even warmed up to her! Amelia takes FOREVER to warm up to people & it only took a 1/2 day to warm up to Angie. Angie is truly a special spirit & friend & I hope that she knows God does love her! She had said she wasn't sure there was a God due to things that happened to her as a child...like how could God allow those things to happen? That is a hard thing to explain to someone who has been hurt. I didn't know what to say :o(. What do you say? We finally went to the bus depot (there are some interesting people there haha!) & I stayed with her all the way up to the bus & getting on the bus. She gave me a long hug & she is so great! While I was waiting for the bus to leave (I was in my car...I was going to follow the bus out of downtown cause I still get lost ROFL!) I text Angie & told her that I knew there was a God because he made us great friends who will be friends FOREVER no matter what! We make each other happy & I just don't see how anyone wouldn't think God had a hand in that. She text back and said she wanted to believe there was a God, but felt he wouldn't accept her either. :o( Someday I hope she knows she is of worth! She is dating a guy right now that seems so great! He has a poor self esteem, but she is working on building him up. I guess people have told her (his ex wife for one) that she has changed him in ways they couldn't ever do in the 10 years they have known him. He brought 2 dozen roses to the bus depot when he picked her up! Awwww! I just hope that things work out for her & maybe them. ;o). (Oh also I have known Angie since 4th grade so we truly have been friends forever ;o)).
(5-1-08) I went to work & I was so tired! I told a friend the night before that I would throw a book party at my house & the lady that sells the books told me I had to send her my list of people, after calling them, the next day so that she could send invites. Well yeah it was a little hard, but I did it. We went to Shannon's house for Parker's 1st birthday party & he is so super cute! He is almost walking (getting SO close!) We had taco salad & Milly wouldn't eat anything but the olives. Then she had the spice cake with orange frosting. Well that night as I was praying with the kids for bedtime, she was on the floor rolling around & then she laid on her bloated tummy & threw up all over the carpet! Orange & olive stuff mmm! Then I moved her to the living room after I thought she was done & she threw up on the carpet in there. I really wish we had a carpet cleaner because yeah our carpet is plain NASTY! :o( We need to wash it anyway because our table is in a carpeted area & Ben just spilled marinara sauce & Orange soda the other day & just every day food junk is all up in our floor so it's turning black. I wish the manager would get the carpets cleaned yearly cause yeah! I was up until 3 AM holding Milly & trying to comfort her & she just wouldn't hold anything down. Especially when she would guzzle the water down...it would just come right back up. She has never vomited in her life & so it has been really hard on her :o(. What's weird is Ben went through the same thing at about the same age...I wonder if it is an age thing? Or if it is something going around.
(5-2-08) I let the other receptionist know that I wouldn't be coming in until 10 AM cause I needed to get more sleep after going to bed at 3 AM. I also barely got my list of Book party people sent by 11:45 PM the night before. It was a crazy night. Milly threw up on me this morning around 8:30 when she wouldn't go back to sleep. I wish she would feel better...I feel so bad for her! Her tummy is so thin now & I can see her ribs. I just hope she feels better by tomorrow, because otherwise we have to take her to the ER! I hope it doesn't come to that! At work today my boss prank called me haha! We just had a meeting on Wednesday and we talked about how we are not 411 (cause we get calls to look up phone #'s like one every two weeks.). Our boss let us know to inform them that we are the publishing company & that we can send them out a book or even they can look up the #'s online if they need. So today he calls and said he needed a # for U-Haul. I treated him like a person calling in cause I wasn't positive it was him or not (his accent was bad LOL! I could tell it was him, but yet I thought maybe not...) So I stayed professional & I let him know that I could look the # up for him this time, but that I could either send him out a book or give him the online address. He said, "Oh you're not like 411?" (dead give away boss!) And I said, "No we are the publishing company of the phone books & we make sure the listings are correct and then we send it off to be printed." He said, "Like you send off the info for print & then it comes back & you glue on the cover?" I lied & said, "Yep just like that." And then he says, "Hey Bird this is Quinn..." I sort of yelled, "I KNEW IT!" And I teased that I could tell cause of the kids yelling in the back ground haha! He is in the middle of moving to a new house & so asking for U-Haul sort of gave it away too. He mentioned that Jenni (the other receptionist) would have known who it was right away because she would have looked at the phone & recognized the #...and I thought yeah but this was fun LOL. Then he applauded me for remaining professional & helping out. So it was good. I teased that I knew he had spies call in to see if we remained professional haha! I thought about calling him from my cell phone a 1/2 hour later & disguising my voice as a Southerner & saying, "Sugar I came to meet for the copier & you just aren't here!" Then going off on him how horrible he was for missing the meeting LOL! Then I thought nah I am a bad lier haha ;o). Work is so much fun & the people are great! I did make someone feel bad today though because I told her her sweater was interesting & she said, "Why don't you just say it's ugly cause that is what people say when something is ugly." My jaw kinda dropped & I tried to apologize cause I felt bad! I told her I was up way too late last night & so my brain wasn't working. Awww! I need to learn to shut my mouth & not speak before I think! She then had a B fit on everyone & left work for the day. I guess she is bipolar & today she was having a moment. She was swearing up a storm & just hating EVERYONE. I apologized again in a text & she told me it was ok. I still feel really bad though! I think my comment drove her over the edge from the problems she was really having. Ugh! Well I am gonna call it a night & watch Ugly Betty online & go to bed. Milly is still throwing up every now & then...we are giving her 1 Tbsp pedialyte every 5 minutes when she is up & she gets SO mad at us cause she wants more, but when we give her more she throws it all up. Well night ;o) And sorry this is so long...I just didn't feel like making separate posts for all of this last week haha!
